No I am driving the same. You're not playing with the gas a little more to hear that fire coming out of the pipes a little harder than you did before?Ya, right! X2 on the ECM, it's got to be driven to relearn the fuel trims!
Drive it!
If I do that should I let it idle for 5 minutes to help the resetJust a CAT delete shouldn't REQUIRE a tune, but a custom tune can take advantage of the reduced back-pressure.
Disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes may reset the fuel trims to default, letting it adapt a bit faster.
Put the cat back on and see if mileage returns to the normal 33-37 MPG range of a Spyder, not babied along at 55 MPH. BTW there is reason why the cat is there.I have 500 miles on my 2023 S2S after cat delete install, and mileage has dropped from 32 to 27. The bike was idled after installation, I'm using the same gas, and riding the same or less aggressive.
no change in driving habits. You're not playing with the gas a little more to hear that fire coming out of the pipes a little harder than you did before?Ya, right! X2 on the ECM, it's got to be driven to relearn the fuel trims!

He said he has put 500 miles on it with the delete!!!!Don't do anything. Just run several tanks of gas through it and let "it" decide what kind of MPGs it is going to give you. I run a cat delete with a custom muffler and stage II, and I get 40 MPG 1 or 2 up time after time. I gotta say that I ride conservatively 95% of the time. If I want to get froggy, I can cut that 40 MPG nearly in half. Your MPGs begin at your wrist, and your scooter will do whatever you ask it to do. 37 ain't bad. Keep that up, and you'll soon get 40, if your speedo is correct. You can check that with your GPS app.
From my experience, yours is a pretty common outcome with the cat delete and stock muffler. I am very curious as to why oldshiner is seeing a 5-mpg drop. That's pretty drastic. My experience with the CAT delete is I put 21,748 miles with the CAT and MPG was 37.39. After the delete and 49,297 miles the MPG for those miles is 37.90. Only engine upgrades has been the K&N air filter and Ron's spark plug recommendation. Other changes are Vredesteins, and Sway bar. I definitely run her alot harder now!
Yes, there are so many variables that some of us don't even notice them. I'd for sure give it a few more tanks of fuel. Even gasing up at different stations is a variable. I live at 4,000 ft. elevation and sometimes fill up near home. The closest town is at 500 ft. elevation, and sometimes I fill up in town. My MPGs will definitely vary depending on where and when I fuel up.The only time I see a large variation in gas mileage is tank to tank. I never trust the computed MPG on any 1 tank as there is too many variables. How full you filled the last time and how full you got it this time. Driving conditions caused by the wind make a huge difference and speed traveling also have big impacts also. I always look at monthly averages at a minimum when evaluating MPG.
